Before Nancy Allen began teaching business law at Missouri State University, she prosecuted criminal cases in the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri. She draws on that experience in her first novel, a courtroom thriller titled “The Code of the Hills.” Readers will find that her story grabs them, even as it repulses them.
